Four grades of Russian thermal coal
Grade D long-flame coal, unwashed, supplied as sized fractions or run-of-mine. The figures below are results of tested samples; the characteristics of a commercial lot are confirmed by a separate document for that lot and agreed in the contract.

These are results of tested samples, not a guarantee for any future shipment. The characteristics of a commercial lot are confirmed by a separate document issued for that lot and agreed in the contract. We do not convert these results into GAR or ADB figures: such a conversion requires laboratory data that is not part of these results, and an invented number is worse than no number. Send the basis your specification uses and we will ask the laboratory of the offered lot for it.

Grindability (HGI), ash fusion temperatures, ash chemistry and detailed size analysis are not part of the test results shown here, so we do not state them. If your process depends on them, tell us the required values with your request: they are requested from the laboratory of the specific lot and fixed in the contract.
We would rather tell you a parameter is unknown than publish one that has not been measured.

Russian origin, stated openly
The coal is of Russian origin and we say so on every offer. That fact defines the practical side of the deal: which destinations are possible, which banks, insurers, vessels and ports can be used, and which documents the buyer will need.
Screening comes before commercial terms. We check the destination, the counterparties, the route and the payment channel first, and only then discuss price, volume and schedule. Nothing is promised in advance.

Logistics and Incoterms
Route decides the terms
Transport mode, port, vessel size and delivery basis are confirmed for the specific lot and route. We do not name a port, a vessel or an Incoterm before that check is done. Depending on the direction, delivery is arranged as sea freight or road freight, and where required we discuss customs clearance support and end-to-end supply.
Vessel shipments
Bulk shipments for buyers with a discharge port and unloading capacity; vessel size is matched to the route and the terminal.
Land routes
Rail and road delivery where the direction allows it, including deliveries to a transshipment point.
Incoterms
FOB, CFR, CIF, DAP and other bases are discussed after the route, the transport mode and the payment channel are confirmed.
We do not publish price, minimum lot, availability, volume, lead time, port, vessel, payment instrument or Incoterm. Each of these is confirmed for the specific lot and the specific deal.

Questions about thermal coal supply
What is the origin of the coal?
Russian origin. We state it openly in every offer and in the documents, and we do not present the material as being of any other origin.
What is the calorific value?
The tested samples gave NAR of 5,232 to 5,298 kcal/kg depending on the grade. These are sample results; the value of a commercial lot is confirmed by the document issued for that lot.
Can you give GAR or ADB figures?
Not from the data we have. Converting between bases requires laboratory values that are not part of these test results. Tell us which basis your specification uses and we will request it from the laboratory of the offered lot.
Which grades are available?
Lump 50–200 mm, nut 25–50 mm, fines 0–25 mm and run-of-mine 0–200 (300) mm. Availability of a grade for a specific shipment is confirmed per lot.
Do you have HGI and ash fusion temperatures?
They are not part of these test results, so we do not publish them. If your process depends on them, send the required values and they are requested from the laboratory of the specific lot.
Is this coal suitable for a cement kiln?
Cement plants often specify a higher calorific value than these samples show. We will compare your specification with the available lot and tell you directly whether it fits, rather than assume that it does.
Can you supply to my country?
Supply is not offered into jurisdictions where the import of Russian-origin coal is prohibited. Every destination, buyer, seller, vessel, port, bank, insurer and payment route is screened before contract. Supplies to the European Union, the United Kingdom and the United States are not offered.
What is the price per tonne?
We do not publish a price. It depends on the grade, volume, route, freight, delivery basis, payment terms and market conditions at the time of the offer, and is quoted for a confirmed lot.
What is the minimum volume?
There is no public minimum. The workable lot size depends on the route, the transport mode and the terminal, and is confirmed during the calculation.
Which payment instruments are possible?
The payment channel is part of the screening and is agreed for the specific deal. We do not promise a payment instrument in advance.
Can independent inspection be arranged?
Yes, on request and subject to confirmation. The inspection company, the scope and the point of inspection are agreed before the contract.
What information is required for a quotation?
Your company, destination country and port or plant, end use, required grade, volume per shipment, expected annual or monthly volume, the specification and quality basis you work to, rejection limits, preferred delivery basis and the documents you need.

More about international thermal coal supply
NAR, GAR, ADB and ARB
NAR is the net calorific value as received — the working figure for a boiler. GAR is the gross value on the same as-received basis, ADB is an air-dried basis and ARB simply means as received. Offers are often quoted on different bases, which is why two numbers that look similar can describe very different fuels. Our documents give NAR as received and GCV on a dry ash-free basis; we publish them in their own bases and do not recalculate them into other ones.
Russian grade D and its size classes
Grade D is long-flame coal with a high volatile matter content, which makes it easy to ignite and stable in grate and stoker firing. The Russian size classes ДПК, ДО, ДМСШ and ДР correspond to lump, nut, fines and run-of-mine in international practice.
Size matters as much as calorific value
A grate-fired boiler will not work properly on fines, and a plant that grinds its fuel has no reason to pay for lump. The share of undersize, the tolerance of your stoking system and your screening capability decide which grade is realistic for you.
What to compare in a specification
Calorific value with its basis, total moisture, ash, volatile matter, sulphur and size distribution — together with the rejection limits you apply. Compare the document of the offered lot, not a figure on a website.
Documents and screening
Russian-origin coal requires more than a quality document: the destination, counterparties, vessel, port, bank and insurer are checked before the contract, and supply into jurisdictions that prohibit the import of Russian-origin coal is not offered.
What affects the price
Grade and size, volume and regularity, route and freight, delivery basis, payment terms, inspection and documents, and market conditions at the time of the offer. That is why the price is calculated for a specific request instead of being published.
